First Media's extensive Metro Ethernet network in and around the Greater Metropolitan Jakarta Area, traversing all major central business districts, has made First Media the leading provider of total communication solutions for high-speed data transfer and Intranet applications for corporations throughout the area, supported by approximately 3,800 kilometers of fiber optic cable.
Furthermore, the data communications service has deployed the next-generation intelligent network which is broadly known as Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) that delivers a broad range of service with guaranteed quality over each fiber optic leased line.These services range from Disaster Recovery Centre, Storage Area Network Services, Real Time Application Services, Peering Services, Inter-Branch Connection Services, Video Streaming and Voice Services and more.

Since 2002, the data communication service of First Media, DataComm, has been trusted as the sole service provider of the Jakarta Automated Trading System-Remote Trading (JATS-RT) for the Indonesia Stock Exchange and Exchange Members.

DataComm continues to provide its services to corporate customers from a variety of sectors. As at year-end 2009, First Media DataComm service is used by 260 corporate customers with a total of 500 connection links in the Greater Metropolitan Jakarta area.
